SMU Volleyball announced on May 16 the signing of Bojana Ambulija for its 2026 roster. Ambulija, who is from Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will join the team in Dallas after competing internationally in Europe.

The addition of Ambulija gives SMU a player with four years of eligibility beginning this fall. Her experience playing at a high level abroad could strengthen the team’s lineup for upcoming seasons.

Ambulija started her international volleyball career at age 16 when she joined VakifBank in Turkey and competed at the under-18 level. She later played club volleyball in Hungary with Fatum Nyiregyhaza Roplabda, where she contributed to a third-place finish in the Hungarian Cup during the 2022–2023 season.

Over the past two years, Ambulija has played for OK Nebo and most recently OK Dinamo, both clubs in Croatia’s top league. With OK Dinamo, she participated in several major European competitions such as the CEV Champions League qualifier, CEV Cup, and MEVZA League.

The signing of Ambulija reflects SMU’s efforts to recruit international talent and build a competitive program for future seasons.
