SMU Mustangs to compete at ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Louisville

SMU will compete at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship from May 14 to May 16 in Louisville, according to a May 13 announcement. The event will be held at Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park.

The championship meet is significant for SMU as it marks the team’s second appearance at this competition. The Mustangs are sending a roster of 16 athletes to participate over the three-day event.

Head Coach A’Havahla Haynes said, “This group has created energy that you can feel in competition and within the team culture.” Haynes also said, “Our seniors and juniors have raised the standard through their competitiveness, and now the entire program is moving with confidence, belief and purpose into the ACC championships.”

The team hopes that its recent momentum will contribute positively during this championship meet. SMU’s presence in such a competitive field highlights ongoing efforts to build on previous experiences at this level.
