The SMU Mustangs’ distance and jumps event groups will participate in the Bryan Clay Invitational, scheduled for April 16-18 in Azusa, California, according to an April 15 announcement from the university.
The Bryan Clay Invitational is recognized as the largest collegiate meet in the United States. The event offers a competitive environment for athletes from across the country.
SMU said this meet is an important opportunity for its athletes to achieve Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) standards required for conference championship qualification. The competition brings together top collegiate athletes, giving participants exposure to high-level performances.
The event will take place at Cougar Stadium on the campus of Azusa Pacific University. Action begins Thursday and continues through Saturday. Fans can watch live coverage of the meet on FloTrack.
Looking ahead, results from this invitational may play a role in determining which SMU athletes advance to upcoming ACC championships.
