SMU women’s soccer midfielder Bunton was named on May 28 to the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team roster for an international training camp and competition at the Bulgarian Nations Cup – 2026.
The training camp is scheduled from June 1-10 in Banya, Bulgaria. During this period, Team USA will compete against two older teams: the Ukraine Under-19 Women’s National Team on June 6 and Benin’s Under-20 Women’s National Team on June 9. This match against Benin marks the first-ever meeting between a U.S. Women’s National Team and the Central African country at any level. The winner of the round-robin tournament will be determined by total points, with three awarded for a win and zero for a loss.
This call-up is Bunton’s third to the U.S. Under-18 team this spring and her fourth overall career selection. Her most recent participation was in April at a national team training camp held in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Earlier this spring, Bunton contributed to the team’s victory at Pinatar Cup 2026 in Spain, where she played in two international matches: an 8-0 win over Sweden’s Under-18 squad—where she served as captain—and a 6-0 win over Hungary’s Under-19 team.
The current roster consists of twenty players born in 2008: nine college athletes, ten youth club players, and one player from the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Bunton is among seven Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer players selected for this roster.
