SMU Men’s Soccer will hold its annual Jordan Mann Alumni Game at the SMU Intramural Field on April 25, with the event set to begin at 2 p.m. Central Time, according to an announcement released on April 23.
The game serves as a memorial for former SMU midfielder Jordan Mann, who died in May of 2007 from an undetected congenital heart abnormality shortly after graduating with a degree in finance. The gathering is open to all SMU Men’s Soccer alumni and their families, including children. Following the match, attendees are invited to a post-game party featuring food, drinks, and dessert.
Mann was part of the university’s 2005 NCAA Final Four Team. In his memory, his family established the Jordan Mann Foundation to fund heart health assessments for youth athletes in hopes of early detection of similar conditions.
Alumni who plan to attend are asked to RSVP by contacting Graduate Assistant tnickel@smu.edu. Questions about the event can also be directed there.
The foundation’s ongoing efforts highlight continued awareness around heart health for young athletes while fostering connections among past and present members of the SMU soccer community.
