Representative Mitch Little recently took to social media to express his views on issues related to criminal justice and accountability in Harris County. Through a series of tweets, he shared his concerns about the role of local authorities and the judiciary in handling crime-related matters.
On June 10, 2025, Rep. Mitch Little commented on an individual’s release from custody, attributing it to a lack of sufficient support from Democratic voters. He stated, “He’s walking free because we couldn’t get 3 more Democrat votes.”
Later that day, Rep. Little provided context for his previous statement by addressing remarks made by the head of Strategic Communications at the Harris County District Attorney’s office. He criticized the official for blaming bonding companies for releasing criminals back into society. According to Little, “That blame lies squarely with the judges and HCDAO.”
In another tweet posted shortly after, Rep. Little succinctly expressed skepticism regarding an unspecified initiative or approach, stating simply that “This is not going to work.”
Harris County has been grappling with challenges in its criminal justice system amid rising crime rates and debates over bail reform.
