Rep. Mitch Little, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 65th district, expressed concerns on social media regarding an event at Epic Waters, a city-owned waterpark, in a series of posts dated May 4, 2026.

In his initial post, Little stated: “This is gross negligence.” (May 4, 2026).

He further elaborated on his position later that day with two additional tweets. In one post he wrote: “The response has been, ‘Well, anyone can rent it out for a private event.’ Private to whom? Anyone who’s Muslim? That exception is of no consequence to me. If someone were to show up and write a check to rent it out for a year and say, ‘This is a Muslim waterpark now, sorry,'” (May 4, 2026).

In another message posted at the same time, Little commented directly on the nature of the event and its implications: “My two cents on the Epic Waters/EID event:

This is a place of public accommodation. Epic Waters is owned by the city. Excluding anyone other than Muslims from city-owned property is religious discrimination, period.” (May 4, 2026).

Little was elected to the Texas State House in 2025 after replacing former state representative Kronda Thimesch as the representative for District 65.
