Oak Cliff Cultural Center announces performances and exhibitions for May 2026

The Oak Cliff Cultural Center announced on Apr. 30 a schedule of performances, exhibitions, and workshops set for May 2026. The events will take place at the center located at 223 W. Jefferson Boulevard in Dallas.

The upcoming programming includes Moroles Arts Week with performances scheduled for April 27, April 29, and May 1 from 6 to 7 PM. Visual art by Jesus Moroles Expressive Arts Vanguard students will be on display from April 27 through May 2.

On Friday, May 1 at 7:30 PM, Tepani’s Heartwork will present an interactive clown ritual exploring themes of grief and healing. The performance is described as “an experience that is both hilarious and deeply human,” using games and ceremony to guide the audience through reflections on life and loss.

Teatro Flor Candela will perform “La Ostra Que Perdió Su Perla” (The Oyster That Lost Its Pearl) on May 2 at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center with general admission priced at $5.

A new exhibition titled “Tracing the Traces” by artist Chenxi Gao opens in the OC3 Gallery from May 9 to June 5, with a reception on May 9 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Gao’s mixed-media work explores ideas of home influenced by her experiences moving between cities and countries. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Printmaking at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.

Additional programming includes SoYo Flow yoga workshop led by Victoria Platt scheduled for Saturday, May16 as well as ongoing open mic poetry nights hosted every second Wednesday by Christopher Soden.

The center remains open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to six in the evening.
