Rep. Mitch Little, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 65th House district, posted a series of tweets on September 30, 2025, criticizing media coverage and responses related to child abuse cases.
In his first post at 2:06 a.m. UTC, Little commented on the perceived conclusion of a media narrative, stating: “This is how the media closes the book on an unsuccessful propaganda campaign. The subtext of this editorial is, “We know that this is going to end badly for us, and we know that we lionized the politicians who supported this movement. The facts are what they are, but the death https://t.co/owQXgnUOdt”.
At 2:14 a.m., he followed up with another post directly addressing individuals or groups he believed were attempting to distance themselves from past positions: “You don’t get to shift gears to “Child abuse is bad, mmkay.” We are not going to let you. Come on over here and own your stuff. You know who you are. https://t.co/V09q8CXfx8”.
A third tweet at 2:26 a.m. specifically referenced The Dallas Morning News and its publication of an op-ed by three doctors: “The @dallasnews unironically ran an op-ed from 3 doctors that says “Parenting can be a very hard job” in response to failing to secure the freedom of a man who crushed a little girl’s skull and then went back to bed.
I have lots of other things that I want to say, but I’m not”.
Little’s comments reflect ongoing debates about media narratives around criminal justice and child welfare cases in Texas. As context, Little began representing District 65 after being elected in 2025, succeeding Kronda Thimesch as state representative.
