Rep. Marc Veasey, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 33rd District, has taken to social media to express his concerns regarding a proposed bill he refers to as “Trump’s Big Ugly Bill.” Through a series of tweets, Veasey critiques the bill, highlighting its potential impacts on health care and tax benefits for billionaires.

On July 2, 2025, Veasey posted that “Trump’s Big Ugly Bill is a tax scam to cut your health care to give a tax break to billionaires.” He emphasized that the effects would not be limited to blue states but would also significantly impact Trump’s voters and Republican-held districts.

In a subsequent tweet on July 3, 2025, Veasey stated that “It’s midnight here in D.C., and I joined @CalltoActivism to explain what’s at stake: your health care, our hospitals, keeping the lights on, and feeding our kids.” He further described the bill as “a corrupt, chaotic, and cowardly attempt by Republicans to give billionaires a tax break.”

Later that day, Veasey noted that “Leader Jeffries is holding the floor to hold Republicans accountable for their tax scam.” He assured his followers that they would not allow this legislation to pass unnoticed or without challenge.

Marc Veasey’s background includes serving in the Texas House of Representatives from 2005 until his election to Congress in 2013. Born in Fort Worth in 1971 and an alumnus of Texas Wesleyan University with a BA degree obtained in 1995, he continues to reside in Fort Worth.
