Rep. Marc Veasey, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 33rd District since 2013, posted a series of statements on July 23, 2025, addressing political developments in Texas and national issues.
In his first post of the evening, Veasey criticized former President Donald Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott regarding redistricting efforts. He wrote on July 23, 2025: “Trump & Governor Abbott are attempting rig an election before the first ballot has been cast by forcing a mid-decade redistricting. This is an attempt by Trump and Abbott to launch back into Jim Crow by silencing the voices of millions of Texans. They gutted your Medicaid.”
Later that night, Veasey called for transparency concerning high-profile criminal investigations. On July 23, 2025 he stated: “Where there is smoke, there’s. And there is a lot of smoke. Release the Epstein files.”
In another post from July 23, Veasey discussed legislative action following recent natural disasters in Texas: “My fellow Texas Democrats and I introduced a bill that would direct $15 billion toward disaster relief efforts for Texas following the devastating floods. I urge Speaker Johnson to bring this to the floor for a vote. Texans desperately need this for emergency support.”
Marc Veasey’s career includes prior service in the Texas House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013 before joining Congress in 2013. Born in Fort Worth in 1971 and currently residing there at age 52, Veasey graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a BA in 1995.
