U.S. Representative Marc Veasey has addressed the connection between redistricting and Medicaid in a series of posts on August 22, 2025, highlighting concerns over recent policy decisions and their impact on healthcare access.

In his first post, Veasey stated, “on redistricting & Medicaid- how they are related: (1/3): Back in July, Trump and Republicans voted to gut Medicaid by $1 trillion to give billionaires a tax break. This is a service you pay for — one that you, your family, and your neighbors stand to lose. Every Democrat” (August 22, 2025).

He continued in the second post: “(2/3): Trump, Abbott, Republicans know that their policies are unpopular. They kicked you off your healthcare. They raised your bills. They made it harder for kids to eat. That’s why they are scared. Scared of y’all voting them out. They can’t win on policy so they made up an” (August 22, 2025).

Concluding the thread, Veasey wrote: “(3/3): That’s why Democrats are fighting back. We are using every tool we have to stop the steal and protect your voice, your healthcare, and lower your cost of living.” (August 22, 2025).

Marc Veasey has represented his district through several election cycles with significant margins of victory over various opponents since at least 2014. In the most recent general election in 2024, he defeated Patrick David Gillespie with nearly 69% of the vote; similar results were seen in previous years against other challengers.
