The Latino Cultural Center will host the opening reception for the 18th annual Hecho en Dallas exhibition on June 6, according to a May 21 announcement. The event will feature more than 65 artists selected from over 400 submissions and will include live performances celebrating Latino culture.
Hecho en Dallas is an exhibition that highlights both emerging and established artists from the Dallas creative community. Organizers say it serves as a platform for showcasing local talent and diversity, providing opportunities for artists to share their work with a broader audience.
A special note of appreciation was extended to jurors Jose Vazques and Michelle Cortez for selecting this year’s group of artists. “To all artists who applied: thank you for sharing your work with us. This year’s selection process was highly competitive, and we encourage you to continue applying as the exhibition expands in the years ahead,” organizers said in their statement.
The list of participating artists includes Abigail Mata, Ahan Jain, Alfredo Ortega, Andrea Chavez, Angel Amanda Herrera, Bernardo Vallarino, Brantly Sheffield, Brenda Melgoza Ciardiello, Brenda Vega, Bryan Holguin, Camila Salinas, Camilo Diaz, Candace Rangel, Chapis S., Christina Vasquez and many others. The event will also feature performances by Representa Foundation at 6:15 PM and by Sabor Puro Cumbia—recipients of Dallas’ 2026 Entertainment Award—at the close of the evening.
Attendees are invited to enjoy art displays as well as music and dance performances that reflect various Latino cultural traditions. The reception aims to celebrate not only visual arts but also performance arts within the community.
Organizers encourage those interested in supporting local art or experiencing cultural events in Dallas to attend this evening dedicated to creativity and community engagement.
