On February 22, Crockett issued a public advisory urging residents to remain indoors: “If you are in any of the locations outlined in this advisory, please shelter in place until further notice. Crockett has served as the representative for Texas’s 30th district since replacing Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2023. She previously held office in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. Born in St Louis, Missouri in 1981 and currently residing in Dallas, Crockett holds degrees from Rhodes College and the University of Houston.
In her political career, Crockett has won several elections by wide margins. In the 2024 general election, she defeated Jrmar Jefferson with nearly 85% of the vote. In the previous cycle, she won against James Rodgers with almost three-quarters of votes cast.
