Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who represents Texas’ 30th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues through her official Twitter account, including Black maternal health disparities, a congressional subpoena defiance, and federal tax spending.

On April 13, 2026, Crockett posted about ongoing concerns related to Black maternal health: “This week is Black Maternal Health Week — and Black women are still being ignored, dismissed, and disrespected, especially during pregnancy and childbirth. Over 80% of these deaths didn’t have to happen. This is your reminder to listen to Black women.”

The following day, on April 14, she commented on former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s absence from a scheduled Oversight deposition: “Pam Bondi refused to show up for today’s Oversight deposition — defying our lawful subpoena. We couldn’t care less that she was fired from her job as Attorney General. She is responsible for leading the White House cover-up of the Epstein files. Since she didn’t show up,”

On April 15—Tax Day—Crockett turned her attention to federal expenditures under former President Donald Trump: “Today is Tax Day. So let’s talk about where Donald Trump is spending YOUR tax dollars: his golf trips, his ballroom, his reckless war with Iran, handouts to billionaires, his personal legal fees — and so much more. Meanwhile, you’re paying more at the pump, at the grocery store,”

Crockett has served in Congress since replacing Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2023 after previously serving in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. She has been elected twice with significant majorities: defeating James Rodgers in the 2022 general election with nearly three-quarters of the vote and winning re-election against Jrmar Jefferson in 2024 by an even larger margin.

Born in St Louis in 1981 and now residing in Dallas at age 42, Crockett holds degrees from Rhodes College (BA) and the University of Houston (JD).
