Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who represents Texas’ 30th district in the U.S. Congress, recently took to social media to share her thoughts on ongoing legislative matters. Her posts focused on oversight issues and political dynamics involving prominent figures such as Elon Musk.
On June 5, 2025, Congresswoman Crockett posted about a DOGE Subcommittee hearing questioning the absence of Elon Musk. She criticized Republicans for diverting attention to topics like NGOs and Stacey Abrams while suggesting that former President Trump was metaphorically putting a “for sale sign” on the White House lawn. “We’re in the DOGE Subcommittee hearing, but where’s Elon? Is the ‘oversight’ in the room with us? Republicans wanted to talk about NGOs and Stacey Abrams. But, Trump’s out here slapping a for sale sign on the White House lawn—and y’all wanna play games?”
Later that day, she commented on Elon Musk’s dissatisfaction with legislative outcomes and criticized a Senator’s remarks trivializing death as a business cost. She emphasized that the issues at hand would affect everyone rather than just a select few. “Elon’s mad his stuff didn’t make the bill. A Senator is out here talking about death like it’s just the cost of doing business.”
In another post from June 5, 2025, Crockett noted an absence of Republican members during an Oversight Committee meeting aimed at conducting oversight and issuing subpoenas to Elon Musk. She highlighted their empty seats as evidence of their lack of participation in important committee activities. “We’re currently in the Oversight Committee and well…the Republicans aren’t here.”
Crockett has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Eddie Bernice Johnson. Prior to this role, she served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023.
