Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th District, is known for her firm stance on various political issues. Using social media as her platform, she expressed her views on Republican politics and former president Donald Trump’s influence in a series of tweets over recent days.

On May 3, Crockett criticized Republican lawmakers, stating, “Unfortunately the Republicans aren’t listening to anybody but Trump. They know how detrimental these cuts will be to their constituents and instead of developing a backbone, standing up to Trump, and doing what’s right—they’re too scared, too spineless, and too sold out to fight.”

Later that day, she pointed out a controversial request reportedly made by Trump to the Supreme Court. Crockett tweeted, “Trump is really out here asking SCOTUS to let Elon’s DOGE access Social Security??? They are not just coming for your check—they are coming for the whole damn system.”

The following day, May 4, Crockett responded to being frequently mentioned by someone she described as having significant influence. She commented, “For you to be in charge of the WHOLE country, you sure do have my name in your mouth a lot. Every time you say my name, you’re reminding the world that you’re terrified of smart, bold Black women telling the truth and holding you accountable. So keep talking…”

Jasmine Crockett, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023, succeeded Eddie Bernice Johnson. Previously, she was a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 2021. A resident of Dallas, she was born in St Louis, Missouri, in 1981 and holds a BA from Rhodes College and a JD from the University of Houston.
