Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who represents Texas’s 30th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing election procedures, comments by former President Donald Trump, and dysfunction within the House of Representatives.

On July 16, 2025, Crockett wrote: “Let me be clear: this is not just about Texas. This is about power, control, and rigging elections before a single vote is cast. They’re trying to redraw the maps, and rewrite the rules. Let me remind them: they took an oath to the Constitution, not to Trump—and map”.

Later that day, she commented on statements made by former President Trump regarding Federal Reserve Chair appointments: “Trump: ‘He’s a terrible Fed chair. I was surprised he was appointed.’ Also Trump: constantly talking about other people’s IQs… Also also Trump: can’t even remember who he appointed. “ (posted July 16, 2025).

Crockett also addressed ongoing issues within the House of Representatives with another tweet on July 16, 2025: “Another day, and Trump still ain’t released those Epstein files. Another day of Republicans stopping all business on the House floor because they can’t get their shit together. They’ve had this vote open for over 4 hours. This is dysfunction at its finest.”

Crockett has served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 30th District since 2023 after replacing Eddie Bernice Johnson and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. She was born in St Louis, Missouri in 1981 and currently resides in Dallas. Crockett holds a BA from Rhodes College and a JD from the University of Houston.
