Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has recently taken to social media to voice concerns about federal immigration practices and Republican responses to recent political events.
On January 21, 2026, Crockett criticized the federal government’s handling of immigration flights, stating: “For far too long, the federal government has operated immigration flights without full transparency. These ghost flights are tearing families apart, leaving loved ones in the dark, and giving immigration agencies free rein to act without oversight, transparency, and justice. It”.
The following day, January 22, 2026, she questioned the reaction of some Republicans regarding recent events: “Why are we acting surprised? Dozens of allegations. 34 convictions. No respect for the Constitution. And we’re supposed to believe January 6th was a bridge too far?? Some Republicans must have amnesia — because instead of remembering how fearful they were for their own lives,”.
On January 23, 2026, Crockett expressed opposition to increasing funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), saying: “There’s no way I could vote to give ICE more money. Let’s be clear: ICE is now one of the wealthiest law enforcement agencies in this country, and they continue to prove they are ineffective and unqualified. They are not making our communities safer. They are terrorizing”.
Crockett represents Texas in Congress and has demonstrated electoral strength in her district; she won re-election in both 2022 and 2024 by wide margins over her opponents Jrmar Jefferson and James Rodgers respectively.
