Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has recently addressed her role on a new congressional subcommittee and commented on the ongoing release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, according to statements posted on her official Twitter account.
On September 8, 2025, Crockett announced her appointment to a special committee focused on the events of January 6. She stated, “I’m honored to serve on the new January 6th subcommittee alongside @RepSwalwell and @RepMoskowitz. Together, we will defend the Constitution, protect the truth, and make sure the American people never forget who was responsible for the defilement of the Capitol.”
The following day, she commented on recent developments in the Epstein investigation. Drawing on her professional background, Crockett wrote on September 9, 2025: “As a trial lawyer for 15+ years, I’ve never seen a case this big. The Epstein files aren’t about partisan politics. They’re about predators, power, and justice. And Trump’s lies about his ties tell us everything we need to know.”
Shortly after, she expanded her remarks regarding systemic issues exposed by the case: “Let’s be clear—this is bigger than Trump. The Epstein files show how banks, corporations, and even governments looked the other way while children were abused. Survivors deserve justice. We can’t let this cycle repeat.”
Crockett’s public statements come amid ongoing national debate over accountability related both to January 6th and high-profile abuse cases like that involving Jeffrey Epstein. She brings experience from prior electoral victories; in 2024 she defeated Jrmar Jefferson with nearly 85% of the vote and previously won against James Rodgers in 2022 by more than a fifty-point margin.
