Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 30th District, recently posted a series of tweets, providing her pointed commentary on recent decisions associated with the Trump Administration. In these communications, she addresses a variety of pressing issues and policies affecting both her constituents and the broader national landscape.

On April 15, 2025, Crockett expressed concerns over the economic and environmental implications of a scrapped project. She stated that “Thousands of jobs. Cleaner transit. Less traffic. A direct line from Dallas to Houston. That’s what this project could’ve meant for Texas— but instead, the Trump Administration shut it down.” Her remarks reflect disappointment in what she perceives as a missed opportunity for significant infrastructure development within Texas.

In a further declaration on the same day, Crockett critiqued former President Trump’s purported proposal concerning criminal justice policy. She reacted to the alarming notion of incarcerating Americans abroad: “Trump is now talking about shipping U.S. citizens to prisons in El Salvador. Let me say that again: U.S. citizens. To foreign prisons. This is not just unconstitutional—it’s unhinged.” This statement underscores her view of the constitutional and ethical challenges presented by such an approach.

Additionally, on April 15, 2025, Crockett turned her attention to fiscal policy and tax reform debates, coinciding with the national observance of Tax Day. She remarked, “It’s Tax Day. While working folks are doing everything right to file on time, Republicans are out here pushing a $7 trillion tax cut for billionaires like Trump and Elon. Let’s be clear: their tax plan isn’t about helping you—it’s about keeping the rich rich while the rest of” highlighting her opposition to proposed tax cuts that she claims favor the wealthiest individuals at the expense of the average taxpayer.

Jasmine Crockett, born in St Louis, Missouri in 1981, currently lives in Dallas. She graduated from Rhodes College in 2003 with a BA and earned a JD from the University of Houston in 2006. Previously, she served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023 before succeeding Eddie Bernice Johnson in the U.S. Congress in 2023.
