Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, currently serving Texas’ 30th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently expressed her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Known for succeeding Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2023, Crockett is vocal about her support for LGBTQ+ rights, accountability in law enforcement, and competent leadership.
On June 1, 2025, Crockett celebrated Pride Month by expressing solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. In her tweet “Happy Pride! I’m proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ fam in TX-30 and beyond. In the face of attacks, y’all keep showing up. Loud, proud, and unshakable. Your rights, your joy, and your lives matter.”, she acknowledged their resilience against adversities.
The following day, on June 2, 2025, she addressed law enforcement reforms alongside Representatives Summer Lee and Lucy McBath. She emphasized the importance of consent decrees by stating “Consent decrees save lives. They protect rights. They hold systems accountable.” She urged the Department of Justice to reinstate these measures to ensure community safety beyond mere condolences.
Later that day, Crockett commented on perceived inadequacies in leadership regarding weather preparedness. Her tweet “Wait WHAT?! People are bracing for storms and this man just found out the weather exists?! This is what happens when you hire vibes over qualifications.” critiqued a lack of awareness or preparation from officials during storm warnings.
Jasmine Crockett was born in St Louis, Missouri in 1981 and resides in Dallas. She graduated from Rhodes College with a BA in 2003 and earned a JD from the University of Houston in 2006.
