Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, currently representing Texas’ 30th District in the U.S. Congress, shared her views on various subjects through a series of tweets on April 16, 2025. These posts reflect her concerns on issues ranging from immigration policy to labor rights and government efficiency.
On April 16, 2025, Crockett criticized certain actions regarding immigration policy, emphasizing the illegality of those actions. She stated, “Skipped the paperwork. Ignored the court order. Broke the law. Ignored the constitution. This ain’t immigration policy. This is straight-up defiance of the rule of law.”
Later the same day, she addressed concerns about potential changes to the Women’s Bureau, a federal agency focused on women in the workforce. She tweeted, “The Women’s Bureau has been doing the work for over a century — the only agency focused on women in the workforce. And now somebody thinks it’s time to gut it? Absolutely not. I joined 50 of my colleagues in urging the Department of Labor to stand with women workers and protect”.
Crockett also commented on a claim by Elon Musk regarding government savings. She mentioned his admission of his team’s shortcomings, tweeting, “Elon claimed he’d save the government $1 TRILLION by Sept. 30. Now he’s admitting his ‘efficiency’ team is falling short — 85% short. Sure doesn’t sound like efficiency to me.”
Jasmine Crockett has served the 30th District of Texas since 2023, succeeding Eddie Bernice Johnson. Prior to her congressional role, Crockett was a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. She was born in St Louis, Missouri, in 1981 and resides in Dallas. Crockett earned her bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College and later obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston.
