Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who represents Texas’s 30th district in the U.S. Congress and has served since 2023 after succeeding Eddie Bernice Johnson, has recently addressed a range of political and community issues through her social media posts. Crockett, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, holds degrees from Rhodes College and the University of Houston, and currently resides in Dallas.
On July 12, 2025, Crockett criticized the leadership of FEMA and broader cabinet appointments in the current administration. She wrote: “Imagine leading FEMA and not believing in emergency management. You’d think, as a former governor, she’d know what was going on. But I guess this is what you get when the president’s cabinet is full of unqualified conspiracy theorists. The American people deserve better.”
In a post dated July 14, 2025, Crockett highlighted challenges faced by Brother Bill’s community market within her district. She stated: “Brother Bill’s operates a community market in my district—and every time they open the doors, families show up by the hundreds. They’re doing everything they can to fight hunger. But now they’ve got more people coming in, less food to give, and staff who can’t even afford to”
Later that day on July 14, Crockett addressed healthcare access and reproductive rights. She remarked: “This ain’t about abortion, it’s about punishing folks who can’t afford private care and women who dare to demand control over their own bodies. Shutting down clinics means more undiagnosed cancer, more untreated STIs, and more folks left out here with nowhere to turn.”
Crockett previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023 before joining Congress.
