Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has recently addressed a series of national issues through her social media posts, focusing on immigration enforcement, federal appointments, and gun violence in schools.
On August 25, 2025, Crockett criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s handling of a deportation case involving Kilmar Abrego Garcia. She wrote, “Let’s be clear: deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Uganda makes no sense—it’s not his home country. Nothing about this process has been fair. ICE is targeting him with cruelty. This is the weaponization of government, not justice.”
The following day, August 26, 2025, Crockett commented on reports that President Trump was planning to dismiss Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. In her post she stated, “For the first time in 111 years, a President is planning to fire a sitting Fed governor—and of course, it’s the first Black woman, Lisa Cook. Trump’s message is clear: when Black women rise, he’ll do anything to push us down. Newsflash: we’re not going anywhere.”
On August 27, 2025, Crockett turned her attention to school safety after an incident in Minnesota. She posted, “It’s the first week of school for many—a time that should be filled with joy, not grief. Those children in Minnesota were at Mass when their lives were stolen. My heart goes out to all impacted by this senseless act of violence. Gun violence has no place in our schools, our”
Crockett represents Texas and has demonstrated significant electoral strength in recent years; she won her 2024 general election against Jrmar Jefferson with nearly 85% of the vote and previously defeated James Rodgers in 2022 with almost three-quarters of ballots cast.
