Former Southern Methodist University standout tight end, Hibner, was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2026 National Football League Draft, according to an announcement on April 25.
The selection marks a significant achievement for both Hibner and SMU’s football program. He was chosen as the 33rd pick in the fourth round, making him the 133rd overall selection in this year’s draft.
Hibner becomes the 180th Mustang to be drafted into the NFL and is noted as the highest SMU player taken since Rashee Rice was drafted in 2023. He is also now recognized as the fourth player drafted under head coach Rhett Lashlee. The Virginia native continues a recent trend at his position, becoming the third SMU tight end to be drafted this decade after Grant Calcaterra (2022) and Kylen Granson (2021).
During his most recent season, Hibner started all thirteen games for SMU. He recorded thirty-one receptions for four hundred thirty-six yards, including a long play of eighty yards and scored four touchdowns. His performance earned him recognition as a Campbell Trophy Semifinalist and All-Atlantic Coast Conference Honorable Mention. Off the field, he has been named to academic all-conference teams over each of his past four years.
As Hibner prepares to join Baltimore’s roster, observers will watch how he transitions from college success at SMU to competing at professional level with hopes of making an impact for his new team.
