Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district, shared her views on recent events and ongoing issues through a series of tweets on June 6, 2025. Crockett, who succeeded Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2023 and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023, addressed concerns ranging from local violence to national political controversies.

On June 6, Congresswoman Crockett expressed her sorrow regarding a shooting incident within her district. She tweeted: “I’m saddened to hear about yet another shooting—this time, right here in TX-30—that has left multiple people injured. I am monitoring the situation closely and staying in contact with our local officials.”

Later that day, she highlighted Gun Violence Awareness Day by participating with colleagues to honor victims of gun violence. Her tweet stated: “Today is Gun Violence Awareness Day. I stood with my colleagues in orange to honor the many lives stolen by gun violence and demand action. We’re done with thoughts and prayers. We want change.”

In a separate post addressing immigration issues under current policies, Crockett criticized actions taken against an individual by GOP members. She wrote: “The GOP broke the law to deport this man—then decided to indict him. Court order? Ignored. Due process? Tossed. Now they want credit for ‘law and order’? Chile, please. Y’all did the process completely backwards. This is Trump’s America: lawless, reckless, and cruel.”

Crockett was born in St Louis in 1981 and resides in Dallas. She holds degrees from Rhodes College (BA) and the University of Houston (JD).
