SMU announced on May 6 that Donovan has been named ACC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Freshman of the Week for her recent performance at the SMU Invitational.
The recognition comes after Donovan achieved a personal-best time of 54.04 seconds in the 400 meters during Saturday’s home meet. This result marks the fourth-fastest time in program history and places her at number sixteen in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season.
In addition to her individual success, Donovan was part of SMU’s 4×400 relay team, which recorded a time of 3:37.07. This achievement is now recognized as both an SMU Invitational meet record and a facility record, making it the second-fastest relay performance in program history.
Head Coach A’Havahla Haynes said, “Improvement like this doesn’t happen by accident. As a freshman, it is the result of showing up, trusting the process, and committing day after day. This reflects not just performance, but belief in the work.”
The award highlights Donovan’s progress during her first collegiate outdoor season and underscores her potential as she continues to compete.
