Councilman Maxie Johnson announced on April 15 that District 4 will host a community meeting to discuss the future of the District 4 Fresh Market. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM at 4478 S. Marsalis Ave., Dallas, Texas.

The meeting aims to provide residents with updates and an opportunity to ask questions about the proposed Fresh Market and Community Grow Lab. These projects are expected to increase access to fresh food, support economic development, and contribute to neighborhood revitalization in District 4.

Johnson said this is an important chance for community members to share their input as plans move forward. “This is your opportunity to hear updates, ask questions, and share your voice as we continue building the community with the community,” he said.

Residents are encouraged by organizers to attend so they can stay informed and participate in shaping the future of these initiatives. Contact information for city staff including Chief of Staff Sharron Evans Jackson, District Director Derrick Battie, Council Liaison Edward Turner MBA, and Council Member Maxie Johnson was provided for those seeking more details or wishing to submit feedback ahead of time.

As planning continues for these projects in District 4, local leaders say public participation will be key in ensuring that new developments reflect neighborhood needs.
