The City of Dallas announced on May 1 that Business and Community Lenders of Texas will take over the administration of the Dallas Homebuyer Assistance Program. The change aims to ensure continued support for eligible residents seeking financial help with purchasing homes.
The transition is intended to improve efficiency in delivering housing assistance and allow more families to settle in Dallas. The initial investment supporting this collaboration is $1.2 million, according to the city’s announcement.
Business and Community Lenders of Texas was approved as the new program administrator by the Dallas City Council on Feb. 25, 2026. The organization will now be responsible for receiving applications and operating the program going forward.
The Dallas Homebuyer Assistance Program provides financial aid at closing for low- and moderate-income households who meet specific requirements, following federal, state, and local regulations. Applications for assistance are being accepted starting May 1 through www.bcloftexas.org/dhap.
City officials say they remain committed to supporting access to homeownership and strengthening neighborhoods through strategic partnerships and targeted housing initiatives.
