The Dallas Stars announced on Mar. 27 the promotion of Rich Peverley to Assistant General Manager/Player Personnel. Peverley, who is in his 11th season with the team, will continue working alongside Assistant General Manager and Texas Stars General Manager Scott White and Assistant General Manager Mark Janko.
The move highlights the team’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its hockey operations management group. In his new role, Peverley will assist in decision-making related to player personnel and the overall makeup of the team. He will remain heavily involved in both professional and amateur scouting as well as player development.
Peverley’s background includes a nine-season career in the National Hockey League, where he played for Nashville, Atlanta, Boston, and Dallas. He recorded 241 points (84 goals and 157 assists) over 442 regular-season games and scored 20 game-winning goals. As a member of the Boston Bruins’ Stanley Cup-winning team in 2011, he also accumulated 21 points across 59 postseason contests with two appearances in the Stanley Cup Final.
Before joining the NHL ranks, Peverley played four seasons at St. Lawrence University (ECAC), where he registered a total of 117 points over 138 games for the Saints.
Originally from Guelph, Ontario, Peverley currently lives there with his wife Nathalie and their three children Isabelle, Frederik, and Elena. Beyond hockey operations duties with Dallas Stars, he is active with the American Heart Association and founded PEVS Protects to support AED purchases as well as CPR training within communities.
