The Dallas Office of Arts and Culture announced on April 22 that it will hold its annual International Dance Day event at Dallas City Hall as part of Dallas Arts Month. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, at noon in the first-floor lobby of City Hall, located at 1500 Marilla Street.

The celebration aims to highlight the cultural diversity and global connections within the Dallas community. Organizers say the free public event will feature a variety of dance performances representing cultures from Europe, Asia, and Latin America, including countries participating in the upcoming World Cup.

According to the announcement, attendees can expect interactive elements designed to encourage participation in dance as a form of cultural expression, well-being, and community connection. Groups set to perform include Battlegrounds DTX, Evolution Tango, Miyagi Ryu Okinawan Dance Group, North Texas Traditional Dance Society, Turath Dance Group, and others such as Dallas Does Dance and representatives from Dallas County Health and Human Services.

Media representatives are invited to attend with opportunities for interviews and B-roll footage available. The Office of Arts and Culture requests that media confirm attendance through an online form provided in their statement.

This event is part of broader efforts during Dallas Arts Month to promote engagement with arts across different communities in the city.
