The event is set to take place at the Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center in Dallas at 11:00 a.m. The initiative brings together several key leaders from across city departments as they prepare for summer activities aimed at safety and community engagement.

Participants in the press conference will include Arun Agarwal, President of the Dallas Park & Recreation Board; Dr. Pamela Lear, Deputy Superintendent of Dallas Independent School District; John Jenkins, Director of Dallas Park & Recreation; and Manya Shorr, Director of Dallas Public Library. According to the announcement released on May 15 by city officials, these leaders are expected to outline details about this year’s campaign during Monday’s event.

The Summer of Safety campaign is now in its fifth year. While specific program details were not provided in the announcement, previous campaigns have focused on promoting safe activities for youth and families during summer months through partnerships between law enforcement and community organizations.

City officials said that further information about programming or additional partners may be shared during or after Monday’s press conference.
