Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson is attending Bloomberg CityLab in Madrid, Spain, according to an April 26 announcement from the City of Dallas. Johnson will spend three days in Madrid at the invitation of Bloomberg Philanthropies, which is covering his travel and lodging expenses for the visit.
Bloomberg CityLab brings together mayors and urban leaders from around the world to discuss innovative solutions for cities’ most pressing challenges. The event provides a platform for sharing ideas and developing strategies aimed at economic growth and improving urban life.
“As a proud international city, Dallas is part of a global network that leads the world in innovation and collaboration,” said Mayor Johnson. “Bloomberg CityLab provides an exceptional opportunity to engage with other world-class cities and bring back ideas we can use to benefit the residents of Dallas.”
Johnson’s participation follows Dallas’s membership last year in the Bloomberg City Data Alliance. This program connects leading cities across the Americas to encourage effective use of data and artificial intelligence in public services. Through this alliance, Dallas has been using data from various city departments to enhance park safety and accessibility.
The mayor’s involvement highlights ongoing efforts by Dallas officials to collaborate internationally on best practices for urban management.
