Dallas Love Field announced on April 15 that it will host the Lemmon Avenue Streetscape Celebration on April 25. The event marks the completion of a nearly three-year project to improve sidewalks, bicycle paths, landscaping, lighting, and other features along Lemmon Avenue.

The celebration is part of Dallas Love Field’s ongoing efforts to modernize and engage with its neighboring community. The airport has recently undergone a rebranding initiative that included renaming its Good Neighbor Program to DAL Connect following input from local residents during a January meeting.

In addition to the upcoming streetscape event, Dallas Love Field highlighted several recent community activities. Sheneice Hughes, Deputy Director of Finance, People & Culture for the Department of Aviation, retired after serving the City of Dallas for 26 years. The newsletter also thanked community members for their donations during an ongoing partial government shutdown that affected over 300 federal workers at Dallas Love Field earlier this year.

Other events included a successful Easter Egg Drop at Dallas Executive Airport (RBD) on March 28 and outreach efforts such as student visits from the University of Oklahoma’s Sooner Chapter of American Association of Airport Executives and local school career days. Department of Aviation Director Patrick Carreno said, “The annual Easter Egg Drop is one of our favorite traditions because it allows us to spark that first bit of aviation curiosity in the next generation. We look forward to welcoming families back for another spectacular community event focused on bringing us all together.”

The airport encourages continued engagement through newsletters and meetings. The next public meeting is scheduled for April 28 at 3448 W. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas.
