The City of Dallas announced on April 15 that the 2026 Dallas Spartan Event will take place on Saturday, April 18 at City Hall Plaza and throughout the Central Business District. The event is expected to impact streets and parking access around City Hall from Thursday, April 9 through Tuesday, April 21 at 7 p.m.

City officials said Main Street Garden Park, Harwood Park, Pacific Plaza, and Carpenter Park will have restricted access during the event. Parking meters around these parks will be hooded starting Thursday, April 9 at 5 p.m. for setup and staging activities. This restriction will continue through Tuesday, April 21 at 9 p.m. In addition, parking meters along the race route will be covered from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon to accommodate participants and spectators.

Several downtown streets—including Browder Street between Young Street and Canton Street—will be closed or have lane restrictions during this period. Additional closures are scheduled for S. Akard Street northbound lanes from Marilla Street to Young Street; Marilla Street from Browder to S. Harwood; Canton Street between S. St. Paul and S. Harwood; S. Harwood from Marilla to Wood; S. Pearl from Young to Pacific Avenue; Main from S. Pearl to S. Ervay; and eastbound lanes of Pacific Avenue between N. Harwood and N. Pearl Streets.

The city described the Spartan course as a challenging test set against downtown skyscrapers with obstacles such as rope climbs, carries, walls, and technical challenges designed to push competitors’ strength and agility.

The festival area for participants will be located in front of Dallas City Hall Plaza but no parking is available there during the event weekend; surface lots within walking distance are suggested instead.

Registration details for racers or spectators can be found at https://www.spartan.com/en/races/dallas or by contacting Quinten Hansen or the Office of Special Events.
