Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district in the U.S. Congress, has been vocal on social media about various issues. She took to Twitter to express her views on waste elimination, honor police officers during Police Week, and critique Republican actions regarding a recent bill.
On May 15, 2025, Crockett questioned efforts to eliminate waste by posting “What happened to trying to eliminate waste?” This tweet suggests her concern over ongoing inefficiencies or mismanagement that she perceives within governmental operations or policies.
The following day, May 16, 2025, she reflected on Police Week by acknowledging officers who serve with integrity. In a heartfelt message, she mentioned Officer Darron Burks, who was killed in a targeted attack. Her post read: “During #PoliceWeek…thank you. Your service, rooted in justice, means everything.” This highlights her appreciation for law enforcement officers committed to community safety.
Later that same day, Crockett addressed political dynamics surrounding a legislative bill. She criticized Republicans who opposed the bill not out of solidarity with citizens but due to their desire for more cuts. Her statement was clear: “But let’s be clear…Democrats will continue”. This underscores her commitment to distinguishing Democratic efforts from those of their Republican counterparts.
Jasmine Crockett has served in the U.S. Congress since replacing Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2023 and previously represented Texas’ interests in the state House of Representatives from 2021-2023. Born in St Louis and currently residing in Dallas at age 42, she holds degrees from Rhodes College and the University of Houston.
