Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district in the U.S. Congress, provides her critical views on several political and environmental issues in her latest social media posts. Crockett, who assumed office in 2023 succeeding Eddie Bernice Johnson and has a background in law and politics, speaks out on topics affecting the public under the current political climate.

On April 21, 2025, Congresswoman Crockett expressed her opinion on the current state of financial affairs, pointing out perceived inequalities under the current administration. In her words, “Let’s be very, very clear: this isn’t a golden age for the people. It’s a golden age for Trump and his cronies. Everyone else? You’re footing the bill for their greed. (3/3)”

Following this, on April 22, 2025, Crockett highlighted concerns about increased financial pressures faced by Americans due to government policies, especially regarding student loans amidst the pandemic. She said, “Oh, so jacking up grocery prices, crashing the stock market, threatening to slash Medicaid & SNAP, and slapping on ridiculous tariffs wasn’t enough? Now Trump’s coming for your paycheck and your tax refund—just because you fell behind on student loans during a pandemic.”

On the same day, in light of Earth Day, Crockett drew attention to environmental issues and their disproportionate impact on marginalized communities. She stated, “It’s #EarthDay—but some folks still treat our planet like it’s disposable. Let’s be real: Black and Brown communities feel the impact of environmental neglect first and worst. I’m fighting for clean air, safe water, and a livable future for all of us.”

Having earned a BA from Rhodes College and a JD from the University of Houston, Crockett, who was born in St Louis, has lived in Dallas and has a history in legislation due to her tenure in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023.
