Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district since 2023, has taken to social media to express her concerns over recent administrative actions. Known for her outspoken nature, Crockett’s tweets often highlight pressing issues related to education, disaster management, and climate change.
On May 8, 2025, Congresswoman Crockett recognized Teacher Appreciation Week by highlighting the challenges educators face. She stated, “Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to the ones who get it done, the real heroes, teachers.” However, she criticized the Trump Administration’s efforts to undermine the Department of Education and its impact on teachers’ student loans.
Later that day, on May 8, 2025, Crockett commented on the dismissal of the Acting FEMA Administrator. She tweeted about the incident: “Well, well, well. The Acting FEMA Administrator said eliminating FEMA wasn’t in the best interest of the American people — and guess what?!?! They FIRED him.” She suggested that this action was a consequence of standing up against authority.
On May 9, 2025, Congresswoman Crockett turned her attention to environmental issues. She accused authorities of concealing climate change costs by disabling NOAA’s disaster tracking systems. In her tweet she remarked: “Not only are they ignoring climate change—they’re trying to cover up the cost.” She argued that such measures do not address but rather obscure the crisis.
Jasmine Crockett was born in St Louis in 1981 and resides in Dallas. She graduated from Rhodes College with a BA in 2003 and earned a JD from the University of Houston in 2006. Before serving in Congress from Texas’ 30th district starting in 2023 after Eddie Bernice Johnson’s tenure ended; she served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021-2023.
