Congresswoman Julie Johnson to present $5.15 million for Dallas community projects

Congresswoman Julie Johnson will present a ceremonial check to the City of Dallas on May 4, recognizing $5.15 million in federal funding for community projects across the city.

The funding, secured through the fiscal year 2026 appropriations process, will be used for improvements in infrastructure, safety, and parks that benefit Dallas residents.

Projects supported by these funds include safety enhancements on Ferguson Road with an allocation of $850,000 for Council Districts 2, 7, and 9; development of a park in the International District with $2 million for Council District 11; relocation of a trail at White Rock Lake receiving $1.2 million for Council District 9; road safety improvements on Hemlock Avenue with $850,000 allocated to Council District 13; and pedestrian bridge and accessibility upgrades at Lakewood Park with $250,000 also benefiting Council District 9.

Johnson will be joined by members of the City Council during the presentation event scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at Dallas City Hall’s Flag Room.

The event highlights ongoing efforts to address infrastructure needs and enhance public spaces throughout Dallas. The federal investment is expected to support local priorities identified by city leaders.
