Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has been vocal on social media regarding various political and social issues. She succeeded Eddie Bernice Johnson and has a background in law with degrees from Rhodes College and the University of Houston.
On May 6, 2025, Congresswoman Crockett criticized current governmental priorities by highlighting military policies. She expressed her concern over the decision to ban transgender troops, stating “Imagine being so bad at running the country that you waste time banning the 0.2% of troops who are trans instead of fixing the economy like you promised on day one.” She further pointed out economic challenges by noting, “The eggs are still HIGH, Donnie. We are headed straight for a recession.”
In another post dated May 7, 2025, Crockett shared her experience attending a graduation ceremony at Tougaloo College where she received an honorary doctorate. She conveyed her appreciation by saying “I was honored to celebrate the powerhouse Class of 2025 at Tougaloo College.” Encouraging graduates to make an impact in society, she added: “Y’all are ready to change the world.”
Later that same day, Congresswoman Crockett commented on former President Trump’s criminal justice policies. She critiqued his approach as ineffective and detrimental to prison staff conditions: “Since we’re talking ‘low IQ,’ let’s talk about Trump’s so-called ‘tough on crime’ agenda.” She raised concerns over actions such as “busting correctional officers’ unions and cutting funding for federal prisons.”
Jasmine Crockett continues to serve her constituency while advocating for broader national interests from Dallas where she resides.
