Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district since 2023, has shared her views on a range of topics in a series of tweets dated April 24, 2025.
In a tweet from April 24, 2025, Crockett responded to a proposal offering $5,000 for having a baby. She criticized the measure, highlighting its incongruity with moves to reduce benefits such as SNAP and Medicaid that are crucial for many Americans. She noted, “Offering folks $5,000 to have a baby is wild—especially when y’all are the same ones trying to slash SNAP and Medicaid. The very benefits millions of Americans rely on to survive.” She concluded by questioning the proposition’s practicality: “Since when did raising a baby only cost $5,000?”
Another tweet from the same day, shows Crockett addressing the sale of merchandise by Trump’s organization, which appears to promote a potential 2028 presidential run. She emphasized the limitations imposed by the Constitution, stating, “Trump’s organization is out here selling Trump 2028 hats like the Constitution is just a suggestion. Reminder: The 22nd Amendment exists. You can’t run for a third term.”
Crockett also conveyed her condolences to fellow Congressman Jim McGovern regarding the death of his daughter. On April 24, 2025, she tweeted, “I am heartbroken to hear about the passing of @RepMcGovern’s daughter. I’m holding him and his entire family in my prayers during this unimaginable time. May her memory be a blessing.”
Jasmine Crockett has been active in public service and has represented Texas’s 30th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after serving in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023.
