Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 30th district since 2023, recently took to social media to express her views on several current events. Crockett replaced Eddie Bernice Johnson and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023.

On May 9, 2025, Crockett highlighted the dismissal of Dr. Carla Hayden by former President Trump via email. “Trump FIRED Dr. Carla Hayden—the first Black woman Librarian of Congress—by EMAIL. The role is supposed to be apolitical…but y’all know he’ll turn ANYTHING into a political attack,” she wrote, pointing out concerns over book bans and historical erasure.

In a post dated May 10, 2025, Crockett addressed the arrest of Mayor Baraka, emphasizing his efforts towards oversight which she claims align with Republican values. She praised colleagues who supported him during this event: “Mayor Baraka was ARRESTED for doing what Republicans claim they care about: OVERSIGHT…The Trump admin keeps weaponizing power against anyone who dares hold them accountable.”

Crockett also took time on May 11, 2025, to honor mothers in a heartfelt message for Mother’s Day: “To the mamas who raised us, loved us, held it down—and still manage to fix everything with a hug: we see you, we love you, we thank you.”

Jasmine Crockett was born in St Louis, Missouri in 1981 and currently resides in Dallas. She graduated from Rhodes College with a BA in 2003 and earned her JD from the University of Houston in 2006.
