Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, representing Texas’ 30th district, has taken to social media to express her concerns over recent political maneuvers involving Elon Musk. The Congresswoman, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after succeeding Eddie Bernice Johnson, addressed several issues related to Big Tech and government oversight.

On June 5, 2025, Crockett shared that Democrats attempted to subpoena Elon Musk “so he could answer to the American people.” However, she noted that Republicans opposed this effort. She stated, “But instead of standing with us, Republicans spent about 30 minutes scrambling to shut down debate and protect their favorite billionaire.”

Later that day, Crockett commented on what she perceives as a contradiction in Republican actions regarding Big Tech. She tweeted at 21:28 UTC: “Weird how Republicans say they’re worried about Big Tech and government overreach…until it’s Elon Musk.” She emphasized her concern by stating that efforts to subpoena Musk over privacy concerns were blocked by Republicans.

In another tweet posted shortly thereafter at 21:29 UTC, Crockett remarked on the relationship between Donald Trump and Elon Musk. She likened their fallout to “two thieves argue over who got caught on camera,” concluding with “Newsflash: it was both of y’all.”

Crockett’s educational background includes a BA from Rhodes College in 2003 and a JD from the University of Houston in 2006. Born in St Louis, Missouri in 1981, she currently resides in Dallas.
