In May, the median sale price of a home in Collin County fell by $4,633 from the same period in the previous year, while total sales decreased by 4.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

There were 909 homes sold in May, with a median sale price of $320,352 — a 1.4% decrease from the $324,985 median sale price during the same period of the previous year. In comparison, 955 homes were sold in Collin County in May 2024.

The U.S. housing market has surged in recent years, with its total value approaching $50 trillion in 2024—nearly five times its value in 2000.
“The value of America’s housing market will likely cross the $50 trillion threshold in the next 12 months as there are not enough homes being listed to push prices down,” said Redfin Economics Research Lead Chen Zhao.
