City of Dallas to host International Dance Day celebration at City Hall

The City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture announced on April 22 that it will hold its annual International Dance Day celebration at Dallas City Hall as part of Dallas Arts Month. The event is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the first floor lobby at 1500 Marilla Street.

The event aims to highlight the diversity and global connections within the Dallas community by showcasing dance performances from around the world. It is free and open to the public.

Attendees can expect a vibrant lineup featuring dance styles and traditions representing countries across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Many participating nations are also scheduled to take part in the upcoming World Cup. The program includes interactive elements designed to encourage attendees to engage with dance as a form of cultural expression, wellness, and community connection.

Groups set to perform include Battlegrounds DTX, Evolution Tango, Miyagi Ryu Okinawan Dance Group, North Texas Traditional Dance Society, Turath Dance Group, and others such as Dallas Does Dance. The event will also feature participation from Dallas County Health and Human Services.

Media representatives are invited to attend with opportunities available for interviews and B-roll footage. RSVPs can be submitted through an online form provided by organizers.
