The City of Dallas announced on April 15 that it will host a community event called “Shape of Dallas” aimed at gathering input for upcoming zoning learning sessions and discussions. The event is scheduled for tomorrow at SPACE at Adolphus Tower, located at 1412 Main Street.
This meeting is designed to be different from traditional public meetings, focusing instead on open conversations in small groups. Organizers say no prior knowledge of zoning is required, and the format will allow attendees to share their perspectives in an accessible setting. Doors open at 5 p.m., with a welcome beginning shortly after.
According to the announcement, the evening will not feature a formal presentation. Instead, participants can expect small-group conversations throughout the space, followed by a brief report back and informal networking time as the event concludes. Light food and beverages will be provided toward the end of the evening.
Paid parking options are available nearby, including garages and metered street parking in downtown Dallas. Those interested are encouraged to RSVP through the provided link.
The city said it is working to update its Development Code with rules that are “simple, clear, and future ready.” More information about this initiative can be found at DallasZoningReform.com.
