Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 24th district, shared her thoughts on a range of issues through social media posts on May 14 and 15, 2025. These tweets reflect her views on accountability for elected officials, the importance of physical fitness, and immigration policies.

On May 14, Van Duyne supported statements made by another political figure regarding accountability among elected officials. She stated that “Members of Congress, or any elected official, are absolutely not above the law”, emphasizing that those involved in controversies at Delaney Hall should be held responsible for their actions.

Later that day, she highlighted a meeting with representatives from the Health and Fitness Association. In this discussion, Van Duyne addressed the role of physical activity in enhancing both mental and physical health nationwide. She expressed enthusiasm about this dialogue by stating: “We discussed the importance of access to physical activity for both physical and mental health for families across the country.”

On May 15, Van Duyne commented on a significant decrease in encounters at the Southwest border. She noted a dramatic drop from previous years with figures showing “April 2025: 12,035” compared to “April 2024: 179,737” and “April 2023: 211,992.” Van Duyne attributed this change to new leadership prioritizing American safety and security.

Beth Van Duyne has served in Congress since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021. Born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and residing in Irving now at age 52, she graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1995.
