The Bath House Cultural Center announced on May 30 that it will host three art exhibitions exploring themes of environmental impact, sustainability, and the beauty of nature. The exhibitions will be open to the public from June 6 to July 4 at the center’s location at White Rock Lake in Dallas.
“Made in Plastic II” features works by Dallas artists ShabNam Modjarrad and Diana Marquis. The exhibition includes paintings, installations, wall mobiles, drawings, prints, crochet rugs, and mixed-media sculptures made from found plastic objects. According to the organizers, these pieces invite viewers to reflect on how human consumption affects the environment and encourage conversations about sustainability and resourcefulness.
Another exhibition titled “The Eye of the Artist: Interpretations of Nature” presents work by Penny Wright and Wayne Winn. Through their artistic perspectives, Wright and Winn explore both sweeping landscapes and overlooked details in nature. Organizers say this exhibition highlights nature’s role in well-being by offering opportunities for reflection, inspiration, and connection.
A third show called “Second Surface: Shaping New Futures from Plastic Waste” displays artifacts designed by Purva Chawla and Steven Kinder. Using discarded plastics such as packaging materials, films, and toys as their medium, Chawla and Kinder transform waste into functional creations that challenge ideas about consumption while showcasing the potential of everyday materials.
An opening reception for all three exhibitions is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring music by Johnny Sequenzia. Admission is free.
